Accident in Saltillo

Monday afternoon, this tour bus was side-swiped by a semi on the highway heading out of Saltillo. 7 US citizens, 3 Canadians and the Mexican bus driver were killed. The drunk semi-driver is, of course, ok.

UGH!! The picture is horrid. I read about this on msnbc.com and knew it had to be close to Saltillo because they were saying Coahila (sp?) and Saltillo in the article. So sad!

This is just awful...I couldn't believe this picture! I guess your only chance was to be seated in the back of the bus.

The accident was probably 30 minutes from our home. Melodie - I think it was just past the turn off to San Rafael. Ash - yes, those are "chalk outlines" of bodies on the road. :-( I always feel those tour buses have a pretty good chance of making it safely through an accident. But, I guess they can't compete with a drunk semi-driver. And most of the roads have no berm, so it's either a mountain or a drop-off; there's not much chance of swerving to safety.

Wow, that's what they looked like to me but I wasn't sure. That is some accident. Tour buses and semi's aren't a good combination I guess. That is sad.

Thanks for answering my question!

God bless!
