MidAmerica Tour

Steve is visiting churches in Kansas and Oklahoma this week. Thanks to Jodi Randel for this picture from their service the other night. We miss him, but are glad he is able to tell others about what God is doing here in Mexico.

While he's gone, Kent is trying to finish up his junior year of high school and we are trying to avoid getting swine flu! Our church services were cancelled for tonight, and Sunday as well. The government here in Mexico is recommending that we avoid unnecessary gatherings/meetings.

Bible Institute

Here are some scenes from the Bible Institute Classes which are being held this week in Saltillo, Mexico.

This is part of the group eating a delicious meal of beans, salsa, scrambled eggs and tortillas. Sylvia Hernandez is in charge of the meals this week and she is doing a terrific job!! Yum! :-)

Sunday School

Each Sunday I teach a class of 10-12 year-old kids. Challenge #1: It's all in Spanish. Challenge #2: There is no curriculum. Challenge #3 - Class lasts for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Here I am reading a story (Arch Books in Spanish) to my Sunday School class.

My class. I print off worksheets from Calvary Chapel Children's Ministry Website. It is free (I love that!) :-) and they have both Spanish and English versions of their curriculum.

Maria and Joe about mid-way up the mountain behind our house, with part of Saltillo below.

We ate at Tacos al Pastor downtown, and this guy serenaded us with a Spanish version of "Let it Be," although he did say those 3 words in English.

Here's a tray of pig skins and feet at the meat market.

And here's the poor porker's head. :-)
