Travels in the Country

Last week Steve and Pastor Dolores visited a couple mission stations which are in small, country villages in the mountains of Mexico.

Here is a little boy in one of the villages.

An adobe hacienda.

The road is a little rough, but you can't beat the view!

Beautiful girls.

Interesting vegetation.

Gorgeous mountains.

A dirt lane leading out of the village.

Pastor Dolores had collected used clothing to disburse in the village. The black shoes the lady on the right is holding don't even match, but they need shoes so badly, she was glad to get them.

This is a snack which Steve and Dolores were given. These come from a pine tree, the sections are pulled back to reveal a seed, the black shell is broken off and then the white seed can be eaten.

A historic chapel, with a horse grazing (in the center of the picture) on vibrant, green grass, and mountains rising in the background.

If these walls could talk...

Another rough, muddy road.

Local wildlife. :-)

I had to "catch up" on all of your recent pics...It's so cool that we get to get a peek into your missionarey lives without having to wait for a missionary service. :) It really gives us an idea of what your life is really like there! (I love all the pictures!) Hope that you all are doing well!

Beth, Thank you so much for your interest and prayers in Nevaeh's behalf. We were so disappointed that Nevaeh was to leave the day before our Bible Methodist Missionaries were to come for a service. Now Marc and Melodie will get to meet her after all since she gets to stay. Sankeys are to be with us September 24. Have just been wonderin' what God might be plannin' for our little Caucasion/Hispanic girl? We'll make sure she is well rested so that she can pay attention to the service. Maybe God would have her be a missionary someday!!!

I take it you don't like snakes? I must admit that your pictures are much more attractive. Keep them coming; they always spice up a blog.

I know that you don't know me but I wanted you to know that I am praying for you all. We were missionaries for over 15 years and some of those years were spent in Donna Tx. and would go to the Saltillo area. God bless.
