Late Night Visitor

Breaking News ..... Steve killed a 4-inch tarantula outside our house! Here's the rest of the story... At 11:30 p.m. we heard someone banging on our iron gates. It was one of the garbage men (they come really late!), he was very agitated and saying that there was a tarantula on the side of our house and the garbage men saw it and were afraid it might get inside and they are very dangerous. So, we grab the camera :-) and the broom and run outside [I am in my pjs! :-)]and sure enough, there is a huge tarantula on the side of our house closest to the golf course. It is about 10 feet up the wall and getting fairly close to our bedroom doors, which open to the outside. Steve took a picture and then whacked at it with the broom, but it started to run. AARGH!! Panic set in and Steve really let the spider have it. By the time he was done there was nothing left but some smears on the wall and body parts and legs on the ground. I almost hugged the garbage man, but I guess I'll hug Steve instead! :-)

I have a feeling that the picture doesn't do the tarantula justice. How scary! That is funny how late your garbage men come. Ours come very early. Nothing like being startled awake and realizing that you forgot to set the trash out. ugh! Stay safe!!!

That thing is ugly. Looks a little different than the ones here in D.R. But they're all ugly! So glad our hubbies rescued us from these unwanted intruders.

Congrats on your 25th anniversary! Hope you all got to do something special!

Ok, I hope I don't have nightmares from that nasty picture you posted on your blog. When we were on vacation out west earlier this summer we were on the lookout for them, but Thank the Lord!! we never saw any!

Glad Steve's aim is so good!

Steve, we were at the petstore today and Rebecca got tickled over the idea of you guys running around in your PJ's armed with a camera and a broom to defend the free world from evil when they had them for sale as pets in the store, right next to those ferocious exotic kitties. Seriously, you guys keep sharing, we'll keep praying and the Lord has promised to bless us all. We love you guys!

I showed it to the boys and they affirmed that, yes, they want one of those. Ryan said "that is AWESOME!"
