While we were in Indiana, we wanted to go to Steve's nephew Brent's wedding to Denisa, in Frankfort. We were about 45 minutes into our trip when we realized we were in serious trouble. We were traveling through rain and began to notice flooding, mudslides, power outages, emergency vehicles, etc. By the time we decided we should turn around the roads were blocked in almost every direction. It took us 7 hours to find a way back to Bedford.
Here's a picture of Brent and Denisa at Sherilyn's wedding.
Flash flooding near Martinsville
37 South was blocked because it was flooded in several places. We had been on this road heading north an hour before.
A flooded creek
More flooding
Never seen anything like it!
This road which we were on washed out.
Unbelievable!
This is an exit ramp (off 37 onto 67) which we had just been on, here you can see water spilling over the concrete lane dividers.
Mudslide
Another flooded road in Martinsville. Potted plants from a nursery are floating across the road.
65 South finally dried up enough for us to get back to Bedford. But the northbound lanes are still flooded in this picture.
It was quite an experience!

Incredible pictures! I can't believe how terrible all of the flooding was!
I have never seen a road washed out like that. Amazing! Glad y'all were safe!
Unbelievable! So glad you all were safe and not swept away like those plants!! :-) I don't know how you managed to stay calm for being on the road 4ever only to get "nowhere"!
Thank God for protection. Amazing pictures.
Seeing these pictures again just reminds me of sitting in Mom's living room listening to your story! So glad you all were safe that day.
Had to come clear to IN to get so much excitement, huh?:) Actually...it was tragic for so many people...I am glad that you made it home safely! Loved the beautiful wedding pictures! The bride looked so pretty! I also think that Joe and Maria are adorable together. His parents pastored our church for a few years...a very nice family and Joe is a sweetheart! Hope that you all are doing well...
Wow! I'm surely glad you DID make it safel--finally! Incredible flooding!
