Traveling in Mexico

Our great cooks (the Correa family) preparing Sunday lunch: grilled steak, rice, guacamole, tortillas, cactus casserole (I had never had this before, but it was really good - a little like broccoli), and cake. So delicious!!

A beautiful sunset in the mountains near Saltillo.

Eating quesadillas in Salamanca. Delicious!

A beautiful tree in Salamanca.

Visiting with Glenn and Helen Reiff in Salamanca.

Usually, Steve is not in the pictures, because he takes them. Marc took our group shot this time.

Heading into the mountains, just south of Ciudad Victoria.

Planning Session

Rev. Sams showing off Melodie's famous chocolate fudge cake. Yum!!

Rev. Hedstrom with us at the RGBI guest house.

Eating pizza at the guest house.

It was a real joy for us to host our Mission Director, Rev. John Parker, and our Conference Presidents, Rev. Walt Hedstrom and Rev. Clair Sams. We had many meetings and discussions while they were here. They are Godly leaders and we appreciate them so much.

The Collingsworth Concert in Corpus Christi

Brooklyn, Kent and Courtney.

Kim and I.

Marc, Melodie, Phil, Kim, me and Steve.

It was great to see our friends, The Collingsworth Family, a few days ago. They did a fantastic job and truly ministered to my heart. We had so much fun, after the concert, rehashing some of our "precious memories." We've known each other since we were kids, so believe me we have some (as Kim put it), "shared history." :-)

Sunday

Here's a picture of Melodie and I with Isela and Edit. Edit's husband (Santiago), is the Pastor of the Rio Bravo Church and, her sister Isela's husband (Eli), is the Sunday School teacher. They are wonderful people and have been so kind to us. We are so encouraged with the emphasis on outreach that we have seen in our churches.

Our (Temporarily) Empty Nest

About 7 months ago, Maria went to college. We certainly miss her being involved in our daily activities. She is with GBS on choir tour this week, and having the time of her life!

Now, Kent is gone. He left last Wednesday and won't be back till Tuesday. The Ada Chapel Bible Methodist Youth raised funds for him to go to Pell City, Alabama for Youth Round-Up. It is a great opportunity for him to reconnect with his friends, and we are happy he was able to go.

But, that leaves Steve and I ... Home Alone! I think this is a little taste of what our life is going to be like in a couple years. Kinda' sad!
